FHS program does not close properly

I have a program from the Notts FHS for baptisms, marriages, and burials. The programs works great. The problem I have is that when I go to close the baptism and burial programs (separate programs), though the window closes, the program is still running. The marriage program does not do this. This wouldn't be a problem, if it was just left running in the background, but there is an annoying welcome picture that remains open and blocks things on my desktop from view.

The only way I've got rid of it is going into Task Manager, and finding the .exe files under Processes, and ending those processes. But it's a real pain.

And each time I open the program a new process begins, so that if I open and close the program multiple times in one session, there are several of the same .exe files running. The first time I checked this, not having rebooted the computer for a couple days I found eight of the same process running - no wonder the computer was going so slow.

Is there anything I can do to fix this, or is it something I just have to live with? Is it a bug in the program?

why not approach the suppliers ?

I did already try submitting a question on their website, but not had any reply. I've just found different contact info on the CD itself, so I'll give that a try.

I know a number of other RootChatters have the CDs - does anyone else have this problem?

Just out of interest, what operating system are you running? (32 or 64 bit)
A large No of society CD compilations are not designed for Windows 7, Vista may run XP will def run.

I'm running Vista 32 bit

It does say on the website it is designed to work with Windows 7, Vista, and XP 32 bit, but no guarantees that it will run on 64 bit operating systems. But in my case this shouldn't be an issue.

Given that you are using an operating system that the software was designed  to be run on, I would be trying to contact the suppliers.
Certainly feedback from other users would carry more weight that there are problems with the software.
