Free pint if anybody can tell me what this says???
http://search.ancestry.co.uk/Browse/view.aspx?dbid=2052&iid=32512_a062906-00013&pid=828680&email=&rc=&zp=100
I can read the first sentence "Socitey Memorandum. Robert Barkham son of Robert Barkham"
Thats all I can make out???
This record if from 1698 and is a Statement for the freedom of the city to Robert Barkham. But would like to know from what guild (Trade). Any clues?
Cheers
Deano

Hi Deano,
As it is in Latin I can't be much help, but I thought it would be useful to post the image for people who do not have access to the site.

I see 'Aurifabro' which means goldsmith - however you'd better wait until someone who properly knows Latin comes along...

I can see 1690, but I can't see the eight. Maybe my eyes. Robert son of Robert of Lincoln was placed apprentice to Stephen Evans goldsmith for a term of 7 years as Alexander said, claytonbradley
Broadley (Lancs all dates and Halifax bef 1654)
