Changing Londonderry to Coleraine in Search should find them so....

Think you might have mis-read the date but it only took me a minute to find this marriage on Scotland's People-
ROSS MINNIE & MCCONACHIE JOHN  1901 (year)  655/3 19 (ref)  Shotts (Western District)

Once you view that you can post the details so we can start searching in Irish records.

THANK YOU! I now have the info I need to start going forward in my search :-)

I now know John's father was Joseph McConachie, and mother Mary McClemant.
Plus I have Minnie's parents names of William Ross and Eliza Jane McIntyre.

Apologies but it's been years since I've used this website. Not sure if this will reply to the person I'm intending it to 🙈  My great grandfather's sister was Minnie Ross who married John McConachie in Shotts Scotland! I am super excited to find this thread. Haven't even read it all yet. Thank goodness for Google!

No sorry aghadowey. I meant I'm not sure how to reply to just one poster anymore. I assume everyone in the thread gets a notification?
But yes I did have a previous account but it must have been under a very old email. I've since read up and see I can't PM until I've posted 3 times. It's been almost 20 years since I had the time to do research and things have changed a lot on almost all of the sites I used to use.

The lady I am trying to reach posted last year and I see hasn't been on since  :-[  Here's hoping she gets an email too. Her Joseph McConachie would have been my grandmother's cousin. I had the names Eliza Jane McIntyre and William Ross drummed into me at a young age. My nan said she never knew her grandparents from Ireland. And look! Eliza and her new husband were there in Shotts too in 1901 with Minnie and the rest of the family! How did my nan not know? I am beginning to think all my gr grandfather's family left Scotland as I can't find them after 1901. This might explain why I have so many 4th cousin DNA matches in Pennsylvania! How sad that my gr grandfather, Samuel Ross, felt he couldn't tell his own family. He made up a lie that his family had been murdered in Ireland and he ran away to Scotland aged 16 so he wasn't next.
I would love to know if there were any stories across the Pond of family left behind. Maybe find out why he fabricated this tale.
I'll go back and read the thread properly soon. It seems my husband may have ancestors from the same area but who believes in the accuracy of those DNA tests anyway 🙈🙈
Now to fight with this verification code. I'm not good with these.
