Does anyone know if there is anywhere you can search on line for Merchant Navy Deaths at sea?  without going to the archives

It will be after 1912. His name was William Fredrick Coombs and he was born in Dorset in 1875

After a quick look, I cannot find anyone with that name who died at sea. He is not mentioned on the CWGC site.
Try searching the Marine Death Indices for free at
http://www.familyrelatives.com/post_search.php
However In the past I have found these far from complete. Other than that looks like a trip to Kew.
