Lookup for Bramley
« on: Monday 05 March 12 11:56 GMT (UK) »
Does anyone have access to the parish records for Bramley.  I am looking for a death of Hannah Weston who died after 1838 (birth of last child) and was not on 41 census with husband and children.  Her husband was William and was a woolcomber.  Their first child Elizabeth was born in Bramley 1828ish.  Any help would be most appreciated.

As William and the children were at Bramley in 1841 and that came under the Bradford District, there is a reasonable chance that Hannah's death was March qtr 1841 Bradford volume 23 page 79.

Just to say there's nothing at Bramley, St Peter.  At least it's an elimination.  :-\
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Nor is there anything on National Burial Index.  And the only death of Hannah Weston in the West Riding between September quarter 1837 and December quarter 1841 is the one that SandraAust came up with in Bradford - BUT Bramley is Leeds, isn't it?

Oops I might have jumped the gun!

1841 census has William WESTON a wool comber living in the town/village of Wapping, Parish of Bradford, Hundred of Morley with children Elizabeth, William, Sarah and Margaret. Is that the correct family?

And there's nothing on my Leeds Indexers' burials CD, but there might be updates as I've had this CD for a few years now.

SandraAust - Ah, that explains the Bradford registration district then!  ;)

The family in Bradford is 6 miles from Bramley?
I would say Drighlington is where that family hails from.
