Robert Heath and Ellen Newland
« on: Monday 05 March 12 03:39 GMT (UK) »
Would anyone know why Robert Heath was convicted and sentenced to 8 months imprisonment in 1848? When he was released his wife attempted to poison him using arsenic in a pudding. Does anyone know anything about the family from his first marriage? His second wife, Ellen, was transported to VDL.
Thanks Lettie.

 Lettie,
I could only find one report for Robert & that was in “ Hampshire Advertiser & Salisbury Guardian (Southampton, England), Saturday, October 23, 1847 .6 months for stealing two sheaf of wheat".
For Ellen there were about 8 reports the last one I found said “ The Standard (London, England), Thursday, March 08, 1849.  death was recorded against her”
