East End Road, East Finchley

I've just found this about Prenton. My cousin was noted as being born at Prenton, Finchley in 1949. His parents were married so there is no question (in their case) of it being for unmarried mothers. But the general clues here are a great help and confirms my thoughts about East End Road.

I was born in Prenton Nursing Home in July 1941.  My mother and father were married so it was not only for unmarried mothers.  I attach a photo - I believe the house on the left (or possible both houses) was Prenton Nursing Home.  I remember a sign under the curve of the porch which said 'Prenton'.  I lived in East Finchley until I was 21 years old but I have not visited for many years.  Hope this is of help.

My birth certificate states that I was born at "Prenton" East End Road, Finchley in April 1946.  My father was US Army stationed in England and my mother was a member of the RAF.  They were married in June 1945.  My mother and I sailed from Southampton on the USAT Zebulon B Vance to New York City in June 1946 and have lived in the US ever since.
On 6/26/24 my wife of 50 years and I will sail from Southampton for a journey around the UK for 10 days.  When we return to Southampton, we will spend the next 6 days in Kent and London - perhaps I will have an opportunity to visit Prenton on East End Road in London.
This forum has provided me with information I was not aware of  until today (6/5/24) so I thank all of those who had input to it.
