Death in Switzerland
« on: Monday 27 February 12 13:15 GMT (UK) »
Hello
An English relative of mine (Emily Edith Ridley) died on the 10th September 1926 whilst staying at the "Clinique La Prairie, Montreux" I was wondering if anyone knew what the situation is with getting information about death certs etc. from the Swiss authorities. I've done some research but it's fairly confusing? Any help would be appreciated.

Kind regards

Chris Ridley

I would imagine that you need to contact Montreux directly, as the records are probably still at the Mairie, and won't have been handed over to any archives yet. There is an email here:

There may also be a death certificate which was registered with the British authorities.
