Loughborough lookup please
« on: Sunday 26 February 12 22:38 GMT (UK) »
When someone has an idle moment, please could you look for the parents of William Henshaw born c1800 Loughborough?  I also have details of a rumour that the family had north african blood, does anyone know about this?  I won't be able to check up on replies until tomorrow so thank you very much in advance.

Kind regards

Hugs

ooh, thanks Diddy, wasn't expecting anyone to offer that, thought someone might have the Loughborough PR's.  I found some parents off someone else's web site, but I'm not inclined to accept it as on that tree the parents and all other siblings were born in Ilkeston, Debyshire and with the Henshaws having a long history in Loughborough too, thought it a bit odd.

Owe you a drink next time I'm visiting Leicester

Regards

Hugs

william henshaw c1800 L'boro

PRs index 1791 - 1812 only has 1 Henshaw listed - an Elizabeth.
fiche 1813 - 1820 checked  no sign of william.

I suspect william will have been baptised in onw of the small villages around L'boro - unfortunatley these are not indexed so unless we find a clue to the right one we are stuck.

do you have him in census?

Hi Diddy and Mike

Thank you very much Diddy for taking the trouble to check this out for me and Mike for the details you have also found.  I will have to make more of an effort to take time off work and get to Leicester and see if I can piece it all together.  I'm not lazy, just too many demands on my time.

Once again thank you   :)  :)  :)

hugatree... let me know if you were able to find out more about William's parents. I just started my own research, and I'm his direct descendent, living in Salt Lake City, Utah. Thanks!

Hi barahir33,  I have William's parents as Samuel William Henshaw m Jane Davis in 1798.  I too am a direct descendent of William so hello distant cousin!  I have still not identified William's place of birth but now I've moved back to Leicester I might have more time to research this.  So you very helpful guys in Loughborough and Leicester, claim the pint I owe you!  ::)
