Joseph & Mary Douglas(s) and their three children Joseph (8), Eliza (3) and Elizabeth (1) arrived in NSW from England in 1855. My wife is descended from Joseph (Jr) and I have a pretty good handle on that line but have not been able to find what happened to the parents and when/where they died. Also would be interested in any info on siblings Eliza and Elizabeth.

Parents' names may help to find their death registrations, though the immigration record doesn't name either mother.  Fathers are Joseph DOUGLAS living at Hill Morton (?), Warwickshire, and George WESTON (living in America), both mothers dead.  Joseph was born at Newbolt, Warwickshire and Mary at Wigan in Lancashire.

The children were all born in London.

Do you know of any?

Perhaps a summary of the movements & life events of JOSEPH jnr including the locations might help.  Families often stay in the same area ;)

 Joseph Jr married in Sydney in 1867 and had children in Sydney in 1868, 1870 and 1873 before moving to Grafton where they had two more children in 1875 and 1878.
So that means from their arrival in 1855 to approx 1874 they were in Sydney. I am not aware of Joseph Sr having any more children after their arrival.

There are a few ads advertising the property of Mr Joseph Douglas (Sen) who is leaving the district of Grafton in 1899.  Residence is in Bacon St.

Yes this is the son. He is called Snr here because his eldest son was also Joseph - born in Sydney in 1868.
I had not seen this advert before but knew that after about 25 years in Grafton they had left to go farming around Glen Innes. They returned to Grafton eventually (actually to Bacon St again) to retire and died there.

I guess that as they were in Sydney for the first 20 years after arriving in NSW, there is a high probability that the parents (the original Joseph & Mary who arrived in 1855) died in that area. There are just too many common names on the BDM index to find them.
