Armstrong-Durham,England or Dumfries-hire,Scotland
« on: Saturday 25 February 12 18:14 GMT (UK) »
My Armstrong connection starts with Elizabeth (1769-1839, Durham).Followed by John(1729-?,Durham),Christopher(1694-?,Durham),Christopher(1669-?,Durham),Matthew(1633-?,Durham),and John(1592-?). Then I am confused. Many researchers show this last John as the son of another Christopher. The problem then is that some show this Christopher as being born in Durham and some as born in the famous border area of Dumfries-hire,Scotland., around 1562. So does anyone know for sure if this is a valid link to Scotland, is John the great grandson of the infamous Johnnie Armstrong, or do we continue to search in the Durham/Northumberland areas? Any help/advise is appreciated. I do not like to rely on other's research unless they have seen documentary evidence.
