hi i am wondering if anyone could help, i am at a brick wall to say the least right now, i have records of an alexander stewart born in caithness - Alexander Stewart-1. He was born Abt. 1825 in Durnist, Caithness, Scotland. He died on 04 Feb
1893 in 46 Horseshoemarket, Kelso, Roxburghshire, Scotland. and i think his mother was annie/anne allen/allan, unsure as to his fathers full name surname stewart of course, but i think his father was alexander aswell, i do know they had a few children in kelso before moving around again well some of the genertaions of that family did, i do have more info but cant get past alexander any help ould be great, i would also love to help anyone with the same line, or find a iving connection aswell that would be great

You have a death date, have you checked his death cert on Scotlands People?

Alexander Stewart b. 18 Oct. and chr. 19 Oct. 1820 in Dunnet, Caithness
Parents given as Alexander Stewart and Anne Allan

You need to confirm these parents details hopefully from his death cert to let you move on with confidence.

You might be lucky and find someone does get in touch with all the relevant details or it may take a while before related family researchers come across this post...

Ryan, there is an online tree for your Alexander that might help a lot. From the death cert they have for Alexander, parents confirmed as by you.

What Site is the tree on? and is there anyway i can view that or any other documents containing my that line?
I am a bit confused with this line as to what they were, as in travellers, or clansmesn or both, i heard a few stories that alot of scottish travellers were nothing to do with romas back in those days they were clans people who fell victim of the clearances and jst refused to move into house and pay taxes to a government who dont tht basically it was a form of rebellion, and nowadays of course all travelling cultures are quite together and close, irish and scottish now do have lots of roma in there blood over the generations, anyway i was wondering if there is a way if could find out what my stewarts came from or started out as is there anyway you could possible help or point me in the right direction?
i dont mean to be a pain im jst quite new to this lol

This looks a possible entry for Alexander and Ann (Allan) on the 1841 census:

Alexander Stewart 60, Army P(ensioner?) b. Scotland
Anne Stewart 60

Address: West Side Of Dunnet, Dunnet Caithness

The 1841-71 Caithness census are now 100% transcribed on www.freecen.org.uk (steady progress on the 1881 which is now up to 70%).

Other possible siblings to Alexander b. 1820 include:

Anne 1817
Alexandrine (female) 1819
Mary 1822
Helen 1825

All births and christenings show in Dunnet, Caithness.

Also looks like both father and son Alexander were in the army going by Alexander Snr's occupation above in 1841. Can't really see either of them in 1851 unfortunately which would include more info (in particular where Alexander Snr. was born).
