Thank you for replying, and for the link to the very interesting thread.  I am fascinated now by the reference to Clara Carmichael Wilson, the mother of Robert Percy Revell, as Samuel Revell Rands is shown in the 1911 census as "visiting" two Carmichael sisters, and I wonder if Clara was another sister of theirs, which might suggest some relationship to explain why Samuel might be visiting them.

Hi, my husband's grandmother, Betty (potter by birth) was married to a Raymond Benge and looking at the areas I think it may be this one. She lives in Exmouth and has just celebrated her 100th birthday. They had 4 children (all still living), does this match with anyone's records?
