I thought about going down the other topical route

I found one birth, early 1800's for a "doubtful gender cowlen".  transcribed on free bmd the index actually said "epicene or doubtful gender" and her name underneath, louisa everett cowlen.
what a shock if it turned out to be one of the family  :o
