I think I was looking for the wrong name for the son - that's family in Killiney is a much better fit...

I've just had another thought on this - Grosvenor Square is a rather large square possibly 2 acres; Stratford Tennis Club is located in the area along with at least a bowling green and possibly even a cricket club. I wonder would the address Grosvenor Gardens have referred to the house on the green?? rather than a lodge as many are called

My Luck and Shane, Thank you so much for all your trouble.  That is them in the censuses - I know the names of the other children, apart from James Edward.  I have never heard of him.  I kept on looking and looking and couldn't find them.  I must be stupid.
Now I have the mother's name and years of birth.  This is so exciting.

I have also heard that William Joseph later became an aide to Tim Healy, but this may be just a story.

In the censuses, the O'Mahonys lived at Thomas Mckenzie & Sons, 212 Gt. Brunswick St.
