Richard Thomas Curtis born abt 1868

Hope someone can help, I am trying to find Richard Thomas Curtis born about 1868 in Liverpool father James Curtis in the 1871 and 1881 census. He married Mary Emma Chandler in 1888 Old Haymarket St John Lancashire, occupation Railway Porter

Any help/info would be appreciated.

He is actually in the 1891 census as Richard S Curtes.  Amend to - FindMyPast has him as S ancestry as T.

There is a birth for a Richard Curtis W. Derby June 1/4 1869 vol 8b page 383. However this looks like he could be the son of Bridget and Patrick.

But I can't see a Richard born Liverpool in 1871/81 either. The only one with a father James was born 1866 and he was still with his family in 1891 as you will have found

In the 1891 census Richard and Mary's first child's birthplace is given as Rock Ferry Cheshire. Some of his inlaws were born there also.  I metion this because I found a Richard Curtis in the 1871 RG10/3783/27/50 an inmate born L/pool 1862 in the Myrtle Street Boys Orphan Asylums Liverpool.
In 1881 RG11/3573/7/7 a Richard curtis born 1862 Liverpool is a grocer's apprentice living with George Watkins and family at Market Street Little Moelse CHESHIRE.

Could this be your Richard and he fudged his age at marriage to bring him closer to Mary's age?

I tried finding this Richard in 1891 to check him out but couldn't immediately see him.

Hi Tonya,

   There is a Mary Emma is on 1901 and 1911 census.

1901 Class RG 13; Piece 3482; Folio 55; Page 42 as a widow

She seems to have remarried before 1911 and is Emma Wright.

There is a death for Richard Thomas Curtis,  Dec Qtr 1900, Liverpool
