now that's a possible. I couldn't see either John or Mary on the 1851 census, so wondered if they had all left. I can find a Thomas who isn't the one baptised in Davidstow, he was baptised 25/9/1825 at Tintagel.  He also marries in 1849 and is at Tregatta in 1851

Davidstow parish records show a burial for Thomas Youlton aged 66, abode Tremeal, who could be the father of John.
