Hi Yorkshire lad,

I had a look at www.familysearch.org and found a marriage for
John F. Fahey and Kate Byrne 21 Oct 1876 Marlborough, Mass
correct parents for Kate , Patrick     & Bridget Murray
Key in John F Fahey marriage and put in spouse  ( have attached site details below)

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/NW14-ZVCI

Tried to find a birth for Kate and found her death  28th Sept 1912 but it also gives her date of birth as 14 March 1860 Ireland.

Do you know where Ballinlough is?    It seems like a townland and there could be many townlands called Ballinlough throughout Ireland.
I had a look also at www.rootsireland.ie which is a paying site with birth marriage and death records for many Irish parishes.  Previously
you could do  a free search to see how many Kate Byrnes were born in Ireland in 1860 but now you have to pay for credits and use them to do a look up.  They charge you one credit for a page of ten records.  With a name like Kate/Catherine Byrne and the year 1860 you could have a huge number of people.

There is a free site www.irishgenealgy.ie with SOME church records  and I did a search there with Byrne/Burns and other options  and then I just entered the date and there were 95 baptisms but none for  Kate Byrne.

The other option you could try for a birth certificate for Kate is contact the general register office www.groireland.ie who issue the
certificates and ask them if they could give you a cert with just the name and date of birth only.  Usually you would have to give them
the parish and the volume and page number.

Hope this has been some help to you.

Just noticed this post. A Patrick Byrne and Bridget Murray were married in 1839, Kiltullagh parish, Co. Roscommon. Kiltullagh parish includes a Ballinlough but the church there was not built until later. They would have been married in either Garranlahan or Cloonfad church. They had a daughter Catherine in 1857, understating one's age/birth year was normal for Irish people of that period.
Griffith's valuation of Kiltullagh in 1854 has seven Patrick Byrne's. http://www.failteromhat.com/griffiths/roscommon/kiltullagh.php
Seasons greetings
