McElhone
« on: Saturday 18 February 12 03:38 GMT (UK) »
Hello from sunny Australia

My ggrandparents were John Mulhone and Bridget Heaney. They married 22/7/1841 in Lissan R.C. Church.

The witness was Cecilia McElhone.

Have spent ages to find Cecilia but no luck. Any suggestion where to look for her?

Kind Regards
Val

Hi Val,
My source shows the spelling of the surnames as McElhone and Heany so it seems that Cecelia may have been related to the groom but I can find no reference to her.

Yes should've said it was Mulhone/McElhone.
Yes I can't find any reference to Cecilia as well. Maybe McElhone is her married name?

I can only get back to 1841 to their marriage. John Mulhone/McElhone and Bridget Heany. Can't go back further or can I in Tyrone?

Depends on how far back the church records go.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
