Can anyone help me with some info please? Do Canadian Marriage Certificates conatin information on the Bride and Grooms parents and their occupations?
Struggling also to find details of the marriage of C.W.B.Bilsborough and V Mc Donald in probably the Toronto area in the late 1940's/early 1950's. (both now deceased) Are there any searchable data bases?
Many thanks.

I have a copy of a 1919 Toronto marriage certificate, and it gives:
Age, residence, place of birth, condition (bachelor etc), occupation, religion, name of father, maiden name of mother, intended place of marriage.
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids. They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
Remember - "They'll be found when they want to be found" !!!
If you don't ask the question, you won't get an answer.

Marriages in the timeframe you're looking at are protected under Canadian Privacy Laws. Marriages up until 1929 are publically available. Unless you have a direct line relationship to these people you wouldn't be eligible to apply to get a copy of the protected license.
You could try looking for a marriage announcement in the Toronto Star - Pages of the Past. It is a pay site but rates are quite reasonable and it is indexed to allow searching for specific words.
