Hi,
the John Wardell in my tree married a Dinah Rutledge and died in 1810.
I'm thinking yours may not be the same one but a different branch of the same tree. x

Hi Angie,  Have had a look at your John Wardell and Dinah Rutledge.  Do you have have documents that support your findings.   Obviously he married in Trimdon as that is where Dinah is from.  My John married in Hamsterly which is where Ann Pattison came from.  Either one could be  the John Wardell whose parents were John and Eleanor Briggs.   We need proof of this  Frederick had 10 children and they were give the usual Wardell names,
Will carry on digging and see if I can come up with anything.

Regards

Hi Owen, many thanks for your reply. I don't have paperwork to prove this connection but some of the info came from another researcher who has a copy of Burkes landed gentry that has a tree.I am certain they are my ancestors as John and Dinahs eldest daughter was Eleanor who married Joseph Hamilton and their daughter was my gg grandmother Dinah Wardell Hamilton. The family lived in Trimdon for many generations.
Best wishes
Angela
