Is this Wm's death?
GAYLOR William
22 May 1876 75 years at Launceston Reg#3056/1876
Also I don't think it can be Williams death unless he moved back to Tassie
I am a bit puzzled here.....how do you know William and Margaret moved to Victoria before 1876? I wouldn't be dismissing this death as
GAYLOR is an unusual name.
You mentioned the details from Margaret's death cert. Information on death certificates is not always accurate.
Margaret arrived in Tasmania in 1845.
Married -date unknown - Henry
GEETwo children baptised 1846 and 1847.
Remarries Wm
GAYLOR 1854
Two birth registrations of unnamed females 1860 and 1863.
Daughter Ada marries 1883 Victoria
Margaret dies Victoria 1904 aged 78 years.
.but also says she was born in Nth Ireland where she spent 30yrs, 15 yrs in Tasmania and 15 yrs in Victoria which adds up to 60?
Lauren
I think you have misinterpreted the information death certificate. Looking at another Victorian death certificate in the period the columns are headed.....with your info inserted.
Where Born, and Years in the Colony stating which Ireland. 30 years - 15 in Tasmania and 15 in Victoria.
What is in the column
IF THE DECEASED WAS MARRIED.[1] Where, and at what [2] Age. and to [3] Whom.
Information on death certificates is only a good as the knowledge of the informant. Who was the informant on Margaret's death cert?
Cheers
