Bartson Close, Coventry
« on: Wednesday 15 February 12 05:35 GMT (UK) »
Hello there
Does anyone remember the caravan site and the pond off Windmill Road? Was it there before Barston Close? I can remeber going through the caravan site (only a small one) and it led onto Alder Road.

Cheers

I grew up in Berkswell Rd, my parents lived there (Mum still does) since 1962. Since then Barston Close has always been there. My Mum has an old map (pre war) of the area, when I see here I will have a look at it and see if I can find anything.

You can see old OS maps of the area on www.old-maps.co.uk.
They show that Barston Close and surrounding roads were built between 1951 and 1959 - the 1951 map shows an open field with a pond.
