hmmmm, I hope I haven't "mispoke". Abraham Pinkney is my sister in laws relative.
I'm pretty sure she told me that the property in Valcartier was given to him when he left the regiment.
I will check with her in the morning (it's almost 10pm here in Toronto, sleepy time for me!).
