Hi John. If you could be a little more specific as to who you are looking for approximatly when and where, we may be able to help.

There are no Births, Marriages or deaths mentioned in NSW re any Meugens family, however there are quite a few mentions with persons of that surname in TROVE newspaper archives. Most of these are in Western Australia in the 1920-30's and relate to a Theo Meugens who operated in a musical theatre around the state.

There are similar mentions of the name in Victoria.

First mention of the MEUGENS name in Victoria in the BMD indexes is in 1857 when a Louisa Maria MEUGENS was born in 1857 at MARYBOROUGH to a Theodor MEUGENS and a Harriott KNOX.
Ref = 3852

This couple had a son 2 years later, John Henry MEUGENS born in 1859 at MCCULLUMS.
Ref = 16419

However, I’ve found the marriage of Theodor and Harriott under the name MENGINS when they married in 1854.
Ref = 1726

Then the children and Theodor appears to have married under the name MENGINS/MENGENS/MINGINS..... so I’m not sure which is the transcription error.

As Neil has mentioned, we really need more information before we can help.
