hi, I'm looking for records regarding the marriage and parents of James Joel bowgett born 1790, i have records of his son, also james joel bowgett b,1823 in bucks. his marriage to harriet hester and their children. but only james sr birth record. any help appreciated.... nancy

Hi Nancy.

Is it posible that Bowgett could be BECKETT.

FamilySearch(IGI).Marriage - 29 May 1808. Great Marlow,​ Buckingham.  James Beckett to Ann Barney.

They are living in Great Marlow in 1841 Census.

I can't find James Jnr in 1841 census.  Although his 1843 marriage occurred in St John the Baptist,  Little Marlow. ???

What was James Snr's, Occupation on his sons marriage cert.

There is a baptism For James Beckett in Great Kimble, Bucks.  26 Feb 1786   James son of William & Ann BECKET.

He shows up in Great Marlow in 1841/51 as a Carpenter/Builder.

hi thanks for the replies, i know its  not becket, but there is variation on the spelling, bougett and bowgate, i have all the census records for james jr, (except 1841), i have a birth record for james jr but that only has his fathers name, will have see if i can get james jr birth certificate... nancy
