Find grave in pinehills cementary toronto
« on: Saturday 11 February 12 13:02 GMT (UK) »
I read on the site that some kind soul lives near pinehills cementery and managed to find a grave for someone!!!I wonder if someone would do the same for me? I lost my sweetheart 52 years ago in a tragic accident when 4 young people were killed by carbon monoxcide gas in a garage in Toronto on 25th Jan 1959 .
I know she was buried in Pinehills and I had the grave number and plot from the cementery records, which they kindly sent me. I believe the plot was in section 7 or 8,(to the s.e. of the center, I visited toronto on a tour 4 years ago and only had a one night stay and no time to investigate . Her name was Mary(May) Davis and she died on 25/01/1959  could anyone please find the grave and let me know if there is even a stone and give me a position or a foto so that I can find it on google earth or maybe if i can revisit toronto find it your help will be most appreciated ..Les Hamilton Glasgow Scotland

Hi Les,

I am not the person you mention, but I have a suggestion for you. Perhaps you can get some info from the cemetery administration. Here is the link to the cemetery; http://www.mountpleasantgroup.com/deathoccurred/cemeteries/locations/ph
Hope this helps you,

Thanks again JDC I have sent an email to the Pinehills Cementery Center to ask for the grave number and location in section6, so when I have that it should be no problem for someone to go and take a foto in the springtime when all the snows have gone..hope someone will see this and can do this for me!!yours Les

I have just received from the Pinehills Cemetry Office the details of the grave.
It is in Section 6 and is Lot 799.
Could someone in Toronto /Scarborough please try and find it and take a foto when the weather improves in the spring, I would be most appreciate of that and any costs my email is

I'm your guy. I've gone to Pine Hills on behalf of a couple of Rootschatters. There's a bit of snow on the ground right now but Thursday's weather might make that disappear. Friday looks like a good opportunity.

Hi Mat Thats very kind of you to answer , I have been in touch with Tina Acuavita  in the Pinehills Center and she went out last week to have a look for me, sadly there is no stone to mark May's grave , I am going to Spain for a winter break till April 17 and I know a girl here in Glasgow who makes acrylic plaques and things like that and I am hoping maybe she can do a marker for me and send it to and you or Tina who will place it for me , Its a long story but she was my sweetheart in Glasgow and she had promised a fellow from Glasgow to marry him in Cleveland Ohio and we parted when she arrived she found that it really was me she loved and called it all off and he took her to stay with relatives in Scarbourgh and she was on a nite out with her pal and they both plus 2 italian guys died in a garage in Toronto from carbon monoxide gas and I was in between leaving my ageing parents and coming over to Toronto so God put his hand in the way to fix it all for ever ..but although I am happily married and have grand children I am with her every night ...I do believe in ghosts !! thank you kindly Les hamilton ....have a look at my webpages its for radio hams but there are a lot of interesting items  www.gm3itn.co.uk  yours Les

Les,

That's such a touching story.

It wouldn't have been the first gravesite in Pine Hills that I'd have found unmarked. I always feel rather sad when I encounter one. You might want to ask Pine Hills what their rules and standards are for markers first. I'm sure that they will place it for you once it's provided to them. I can take photos for you when it's in place.
