I Actually unsure...but not impossible...I have no record on my research thus far - but who knows ...I Obriens Leitrim/Roscommon...we got about. Only today I met an army officer in Applegreen Dundalk and my son tugged me and went Dad there is an OBrien cos tag on uniform....lad just back from Dublin to base in Dubdalk and we had a chat:) His side wicklow direction mind you but onto ancestry now:)

Forgot there was a Mater Hospital, Belfast...  With date of 1922 might not be on Irish Genealogy site.

My Henry OBrien I have death cert issued in July 1922...he was shot outside Cullingtree Road barracks by 6-7 men in May ...he was having a cigarette with a civilian. He had been transferred from Kerry a few weeks prior...and ironically would have been alive otherwise as ceasefire was in place in the republic. Newspaper reports said in some the RVH in Belfast and other the Mater...he died of wounds in the Mater I can confirm..Those were bad days, he was only 22 in 1922 just making a living..

Forgot there was a Mater Hospital, Belfast...  With date of 1922 might not be on Irish Genealogy site.

Deaths registered in the island of Ireland between 1st January, 1864 and 31st December, 1921 inclusive and in Ireland (excluding Northern Ireland) from 1922 onwards.

Looks like he died at Mater, Belfast!  He's not in Dublin anyway.

Maybe even buried Belfast??

Yes I provided Peter with all that The Mater Hospital is at Carisle Circus in North Belfast. Henry was buried in Lurga Roscommon albeit cant find a graveyard:)
