Help needed: Gladys Rosa Lillian GRAY
« on: Thursday 09 February 12 19:40 GMT (UK) »
Hi

I know the below about my Great Grandmother, however am at a complete stumbling block when it comes to her parents, any help in identifying one or the other would be appreciated:

Name: Gladys Rosa Lillian GRAY
Birth: 6th July 1905; Holbeach, Lincolnshire
Marriage 1: December 1924; Holbeach, Lincolnshire; to Leonard Osborne
Marriage 2: 4th May 1963; Liverpool, Merseyside; to John Howey
Death: 19th September 1979; Liverpool, Merseyside

I have no reference to Glady Gray in the 1911 census, however on the 2nd marriage certificate it does show her fathers name as Robert GRAY (farm worker), deceased.

If you can help me locate & point my in the right direction it would be very much appreciated.

Regards

The free 1911 index has a Gladys Gray aged 5 b Lincolnshire but living in Chesterton Cambridge

Have you viewed that entry?

1911 lookups are not allowed on RC so if her father isn't Robert you may have to buy a copy of her birth cert to get her parents names etc

Using the free 1911 index on Genes Reunited shows her birthplace as Gedney Fen which came under the Holbeach Registration District

There's a Robert GRAY 19 in Gedney in 1901 and a marriage for a Robert GRAY in 1903.

Today I broke my personal record for most consecutive days alive.
