Am hoping someone may be able to help me as i am well and truly Stuck on this one.

I have a John Heeley Born 1781. I cannot Find His Birth at all. On the 51 Census it states Harthill.

John Married Mary Tompkin In Clowne, Derbyshire in 1806.

Their Oldest Child was hannah Heeley born 1807 in Clowne. She died the same year.

Thier Oldest Son was William Heeley, born in Clowne DecQ 1807.

John Died in Clowne in 1854.

Can anyone shed any Light on this Mans Birth?

Many thanks

Hi

I've checked the Harthill PR's and found no births for a John Heeley or other name variants around that period...

The only Heeley's close to that date are:
22 Dec 1779 Thomas s. of William Heeley & Ann d. of John Law, Little Huckley, bap.
12 Aug 1782 William s. of William Heeley, labourer, bap.

The only close record from the IGI/Family Search was:
1841 census, Anston, Worksop, Jonathan Heeley aged 59.

There is a marriage, IGI (extracted record):
8 Feb 1806 John Heley & Mary Tompkin, Clowne, mar.

I checked the original of the 1851 census and there is nothing to help there, either.

Good luck.

Regards
Geoff

Hello Emma

I hope you've solved your problem by now, but if not, I have some information about the Heeleys of Harthill, although none of it seems to tie in very well with the names and dates you have.  John Heeley of Harthill, born 1871, was my great grandfather.  His father, also John, was born 1826 in South Anston.  John's father, Jonathan Heeley, was born in 1782 in Wath (possibly Wath upon Dearne, but I'm not sure).  Jonathan had nine children, so maybe the people you are looking for are descended from one of them.
