I am trying to confirm the birth/baptism of my great grandfather Harry Walter Hewitt Wilton (parents William Arthur Hewitt Wilton and Annie Eliza Wilton).
Harry's application form for enlistment in the Australian Armed Forces states that he was born in Shoeburyness on 25 Sep 1872.
According to census records, William and Annies' children were born in Southend, Shoeburyness and Southchurch. The births of all children (with the exception of Harry of course!) were registered during the period 1861 to 1879.
Information indicates that the Wiltons were Church of England, so one would think that they had their children baptised/christened.
Would anybody know where this baptism could have taken place i.e. what Co E churches were in the above 3 towns/villages around the above period?
If this information is provided, how do I access the records, as I am living in Australia. So far I have relied on the GRO records and others available on Ancestry to help me with my family tree.
Is it possible for someone to access the baptismal record for me?
Thanks
Mark
