Phillipps Family Broadway

I am looking for details of land ownership/ occupations of George Phillipps (wife Frances) of Laverton and then Picton House Broadway, and his son Thomas (b 1862)  Also, how / if they are linked to Sir Thomas Phillipps

Who is this Sir Thomas Phillipps you are trying to connect with?

Is he the (in)famous book collector, born Manchester 1792, illegitimate son of Thomas Phillips and Hannah Walton?
Later of Thirlestaine House, Cheltenham.

The 1871 census has his place of birth as Brill, Buckinghamshire, but all the biographies have Manchester?

Thank you for the info from census. It was the land info that I didn't have, so this is helpful.
Sir Thomas Phillipps was a very eccentric book collector. I'm told he is connected to George Phillipps but I have not been able to establish how. George and his family moved to Picton House Broadway but again, I have been unable to establish when or why.

1891 they are in High St, Broadway, Worcs

1881 they are still in Buckland, Glous. So sometime between 1881-1891 they moved and he obviously retired as he was Living on his Own Means in 1891.

I cant George in 1861.

Thanks Everyone for the census results - these have been great and have added a couple more siblings to those I had listed. Can anyone help with the Sir Thomas Phillipps connection please? I am totally mystified as to how he fits in, but several cousins assure me that they were told (by now dec'd parents) that he does!!

It would seem unlikely, given that Sir Thomas was born in either Manchester or Buckinghamshire, and George came from Wiltshire?

Sir Thomas describes George Phillipps (and his siblings) as 'my distant cousin(s).(in his will)  On the family tree I have, I cannot see where Sir Thomas fits in. From the reading I have done, Sir Thomas inherited (and then acquired more) land in Glouc. especially around Broadway/ Laverton etc. which is where George came from (at least in 1860's+. So I'm still trying to establish the link.

Sir Thomas Phillipps Bt. (1792-1872) was my gt.gt.gt.grandfather, he was the son of Thomas Phillipps (1742-1818) who was the youngest son of William Phillipps (1700-1771) who married Mary Cotterell only daughter of Edward Cotterell of Saintbury. His father was John Phillipps (1652-1727).
The family had farmed around Broadway for several generations, however Thomas Phillipps (1742-1818) was the youngest son of three and his elder brothers, William (1737-1816) and Edward continued to farm around Campden. As Thomas was the third son, he did not take over the family farm, but went into trade, ending up as the senior partner of Phillipps, Lowe and Co.Ltd., Calico Manufacturers and Printers of Cannon Street Manchester, returning to Broadway in 1794/6, having bought the Middle Hill estate and other farms and later the manors of Laverton and Buckland.
