WDYTYA Live - Free DNA Tests

There will be some free DNA tests available at the WDYTYA Live show at Olympia, London 24-26 February.  If anyone is interested, they should visit the International Society of Genetic Genealogy (ISOGG) display at Stand #433.

I have Burton ancestors, but they are from my father's mother's line. Is there any point in my visiting the stand for a test?

As surnames are listed they are presumably performing Y-DNA tests so only men bearing a relevant surname can participate (i.e. direct paternal line).  You could contact the administrator of the Burton project to see if they are interested in autosomal testers - but your Burton connection would have to be within 5 generations or so.

You should still visit the stand. Perhaps you might like to participate in some other respect, e.g. your own surname or autosomally.

I believe Family Tree DNA will be offering discounts on their tests at the show, but I don't know how much.  I shall be interested to find out.
