James Martin 1925 - 2011
« on: Sunday 05 February 12 18:27 GMT (UK) »
Hi everyone,

I would firstly like to thank everyone that helped in the past with photo restorations for my father.  For those that remember, I put together an album for his 81st birthday 4 years ago.  Many of the photos were lovingly restored here on Rootschat by very talented and kind people.

Dad passed away on December 5th 2011 after a long illness.  Whilst clearing out his room, I found the album and it was apparent from the wear, that he viewed it a lot.  This made me smile, knowing that he took such great pleasure in those photos as life had little to offer him these last few years.

I am now busy making copies of the album for his serviving siblings, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Thank you all so very much :-)

Hi Mermaid, so sorry to hear your sad news.  I'm not a restorer, but being on the computer at the same time (I've just posted) I just wanted to say sorry for your loss, and how nice that your dad's last few years were cheered by his obvious pleasure in the album you created with the help of the kind and talented restorers on this forum.  I hope the rest of your family enjoy the copies of the album.  Kind regards.

Thanks everyone,

The photos are a great comfort and a treasure to our family.  My dad was a great man and will be sorely missed.  Those photos will be part of a family history I'm writing for both my mum and dad which will be for generations to come.
