Family Tree Maker V4 - problem with Ancestry >>
« on: Saturday 04 February 12 19:51 GMT (UK) »
Hi all, I've recently tried this out, and have been very impressed with the Ancestry matches, particularly the tree matches.

As such, I've now activated the Ancestry membership (one month free). However, when I click on a tree that I want to e-mail the owner about, or view a census match, it asks me to take out the 14 day free trial (enter card details, etc).

Am I missing something? I purposely waited to activate the account so I could amass as many of my family members as possible on here and really take advantage of the membership linked directly to my tree, but it looks like a complete waste of time.

All sorted now - got overly complicated because I used to have a full subscription, so all my details were previously on there. Loads of hassle putting new passwords in, etc, and one step seems to have been missed by me (no prompting to go back through, etc).

Actually fantastic now it's working - hoping to get about 20 responses back from family all over the globe, including one who appears to havea family bible dating WAYYYYYYYY back  ;D
