Well, we learn something new every day.
I was born and brought up in St Ninians and went to St Ninians school in the Weaver Row but don't recall ever hearing of a 'Stripeside'
Maybe I've just forgot about it. I will make enquiries.

Thanks for that wee bit info though.

Anne..
I read on another thread somewhere that you have lots of photos of Denny headstones.
Do you have Ferguson ones ??
Are they on a website ??

Cheers.

Brilliant Anne.
At least one definite hit there and it's saved me getting the bike out of the shed and peddling all the way to Denny.

Many thanks  (again)

My pleasure Robert.

E-mail on it's way.

I can recommend a wee visit to Denny (if you like visiting cemeteries) as it's a really nice - apart from the new High School being right next door which spoils the atmosphere a wee bit.

Lots of bunnies, squirrels, deer and the odd badger which I love to see/watch, but some of the wee devils burrow into the 'tiers' and cause the stones to topple!

Anne  :)

I was there a few years ago and amazed at how colourful it was. I was told, at the time, that it was because lots of folk were using artificial flowers so as to avoid feeding the rabbits.

Cheers.

I spoke on the phone yesterday to a granddaughter of Elizabeth Kelly and John Ferguson. She told me that they had a big family and that one of their sons, Andrew, went to America. She said that it was one of Andrew's grandsons who was commander of the very last space shuttle flight.

Have I finally found someone famous in my family tree ??????
I will have to find a way to check on that one

Mormon web site says that Lillias Ferguson was born at Stripside, Denny on 14 march 1910 but I/ve been given a copy of her birth certificate and the place of birth is given as 12 Millton Row, Dunipace.
I thought the Mormon site might be referring to the place where she was cvristened but both dates are the same
Anyone come up with ideas as to why the dates are the same but the places are different

Cheers.

May be the same as one of my relatives, she was born in bannockburn but registered in denny but dates and person's name is obviously the same as know from other information that they are the correct person. places are so close to each other that may be born in one place but registered in another.
the relative i have where this was the case was an agnes gillespie. luckily we know enough about her to know it's the right person as there are so many people with the same name in  denny, falkirk at that time.
