Hello Daisy,

Is your father practising in Merlynston. Victoria?

I am Bertha (Elsie's mother) grandaughter.  I was trying to find out the personality of your grandad and what he was like. I know he was a very respected doctor from all accounts.

I only found out about Elsie about 4 years ago,

If you would like my  personal email address I will give it to you.

Thankyou for being in touch,

Yvonne.

Hello Yvonne,

Your message caught my eye because my wife had some distant Lay relatives in Leicester, descended from William Lay of Coventry.

You may have seen these before but there are two trees on Ancestry owned, I believe, by descendants of Ernest Hadley.

One of these is the daughter of Cecil, the second son. It might be worth trying to make contact.

Regards,
David

Hi David,

Thank  you for your message. Lay is my married name, my husband's family all come from around the Birmingham area. I'm afraid I don't know if any are in the Leicester area.

With Ernest Hadley, thank you for letting me know.

Kind regards,
Yvonne.

Hello Daisy,

I was wondering if your father knew if Bertha worked for your Grandfather please?  This is the story we have been told by family members.

Elsie's daughter and I would love to find out more with anything you or your father are willing to tell us.  Please do not upset him on any questions you don't want to ask him.

I thank you for getting in touch earlier in the week,

Kind regards,

Yvonne.

Hi Yvonne
I am not sure where my father practices. He is 82 don't forget - though I know he still does work on a part time basis. He and my mother divorced when I was very young. My brother and I stayed with my mother in England. My daughter and I now live in France.
However despite the distances I have stayed in good contact with my father. He comes over to Europe every two years and I am expecting to see him this year in September all being well. By all means send me your e-mail address. Best regards.
