Doctor Ernest Cutcliffe Hadley. Leicester.
« on: Wednesday 01 February 12 05:28 GMT (UK) »
Hello,

Would anyone have any information on Doctor Ernest Cutcliffe Hadley of Leicester. He previously was in Birmingham and moved to Leicester Gen Hospital (previously know as Poor Law Local and County).

I have his birth, marriage and death dates but would like to find out more about this man.

Thank you,

Yvonne.

Freebmd shows him b March qtr 1875 Aston Warwickshire  died 1947 Leicester

It sounds as though you are looking for more personal info about him that perhaps only a living descendant could provide

Thank you both for the postings. The FMB information is correct, but I am looking for any obituaries written in newspapers, but I am afraid I am getting no where with it.  I have checked Medical Journals etc with him mentioned in many of them.

Thank you again.

Yvonne.

I notice you had a reply in 2009 on another forum mentioning a possible relative in the RAF in the 1950's - were you able to follow it up?

That particular relative married in 1953 in Birmingham but was born in Leicestershire to the marriage below

Ernest appears to have married late in life

Marriages September qtr 1928
Jessie M Bishop to Ernest C  Hadley  Barnstaple  5b 1002

Yes I followed up on the relative and Ernest did marry late in life and passed away in 1947. From what I can find out he had 4 children.  Ernest came from a family of Medical Practitioners.

Hi Yvonne
This man was my grandfather though he died before I was born when my own father was only 16. He did indeed marry late in life and had four children 3 boys and 1 girl. The eldest son is my father also a doctor, who is well and active for his 82 years (b 1930). I have seen your correspondance with my cousin Jane and my father is aware of the existence of his half sister Elsie .
I can't tell you much about my grandfather as I never knew him but if you have any specific questions I could ask my father.
Ironically my father has lived in the Coburg district of Melbourne for over 40 years.
