Hamburg Passenger Lists, 1850-1934 Record

Hi all!  I'm looking at the last line of this record, which is in German, and having a really hard time deciphering where Michael Zbora
-  was from (they've transcribed it as "Wabowe, Russland" but that's not any place I can actually find referenced anywhere?)
- what his profession is (presuming something akin to 'laborer', but ?)
- where he was going to (I keep seeing Horatio, which isn't anywhere I can find, either!)   

Any ideas? I know you all have better eyes for this than I do!

Word in column after his age looks like Waborre to me.

Last word certainly looks like Horatio to me too.
Can't make out second last word.

Where was ship going?

Profession is the same as the person a few lines up, which is a little clearer.

Looks like Arbtor or Arbter which could be a contraction of Arbeiter = labourer/ worker.

Occupation is definitely "Arbter" for Arbeiter/labourer.

Destination may be Horatio Pa (Pennsylvania), a former mining community just west of Punxsutawney. It no longer exists as such, but there's some information, old maps and photos at http://patheoldminer.rootsweb.ancestry.com/jefhoratio.html

The place of origin is a puzzle!
Examining the handwriting on this and the previous page, it is almost certainly written as "Wabowe" (Russl[and] = Russia), and I can only think that this refers to the city now called Turku in Finland - then part of the Russian Empire. Before Finnish independence it was generally referred to by its Swedish name Åbo - or in old Russian, Abov (Абов). With the Russian prepositional case (or Old Russian locative), "in Abov" is "в Абове"/"v Above", but I have found a couple of hits on the internet where this has been contracted to Vabove/Вабове - even "в Вабове" occurs, and still clearly referring to Åbo/Turku, so it may even have been a recognised alternative. Вабове would be transliterated into German as Wabowe.

It may be a (very!) long shot, but it's worth bearing in mind that when you ask a Russian "Where do you live?" or "Where were you born?", he won't just say "Abov", but "in Abov", which is "v Above" - which sounds like "vabove"... or "wabowe" if you're a German seaman interrogating the foreign passengers in order to fill in the forms.

Adrian - Wow - actually, that's a lot more info than I was able to come up with and I appreciate the help! 
I hadn't been able to find anything about Horatio, but this family is full of miners, so that makes a lot of sense... I had no idea about that site, but it helps a lot. 

I also follow your line of thinking re: Abo.   I'll do some digging and see if I can find any family connection to that town.  In all of the records, my Michael Zborai/Sborai/Sporay is from Austria/Hungary, so I think I may be barking up the wrong tree.

Eliminating records is sometimes easier than confirming them, and it keeps me moving forward on looking for the one that fits.
