Lieut. Col. Percy MACLEAR
« on: Tuesday 31 January 12 14:28 GMT (UK) »
1st Battalion Royal Dublin Fusiliers atached to the 2nd Nigeria Regiment
Died 30th August 1914 , Garua, Nigeria

As part of my research of London Irish rugby players who died in the Great War,I have the above person on whom I have a lot of information, but one thing puzzles me. I know he died in a Geman counter attack and Garua was not retaken until June 1915, when a funeral service was held over the graves of the men who had fallen the previous August. I have been trying to find the location of these graves but to date cannot. Has anyone any idea, how I can find these or know of their existance.
All I have is that Percy is commemorated on the Lokoja Memorial.
