There will be no birth certificate for a birth pre-1863
However Samuel Stackpoole Shaw of Vavasone Square was baptised in Donnybrook CoI Church on May 28 1854; son of John and Susanna Shaw; John's occupation gentleman

thank you for finding sams birth for me, Ive been looking for it for years, were there any other children do you know? Is there a graveyard for the church maybe I could look for a tombstone?

It is a large church on a busy corner near the RDS (Royal Dublin Society) Grounds
I don't believe there is a churchyard alongside; there is an old cemetery in the centre of Donnybrook if I remember correctly.

Might there be a connection to W D Vavasour, a cracking good Cricketer for Co Galway and Phoenix in the 1870's. I've been trying to trace WDV, but with little luck...
