Kia Ora
Hoping someone might have local knowledge of the following locations:Ballyblack, Ballyhaft, Ballyboley, Crossnamuckley Cunningburn all in Down!.

I would like to know:
1. Is there  Church in any of the above locations? What denomination?
2. is there a cemetery? Attached to the church or separate?
3. Have Parish Records /Cemetery Headstones beeen transcribed for any of the above?
4. Where would I get transcriptions?

I am seeking any BOYLE, BOLE OR BOAL c. 1800- 1865 around the above locations.
I have Boyle children baptised at Ballycopeland Presbyterian but residing in above locations at time of the Baptisms
Can anyone help please?
Thanks
Dale

To answer the first one: Ballyblack-
Relatives living here at a slightly later date attended church in Newtownards (where there are numerous churches of various religions) and are buried in Movilla Cemetery outside Newtownards. The Council office in Newtownards had the burial records when I looked a few years ago (hopefully on computer now since staff weren't terribly helpful and didn't really want to check for plot numbers so I could find the graves).
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Thanks ddea and Aghadowey - every little gem helps!
I am working with a (maybe) relative exploring the BOAL family and he sent an email to Newtownards Council last week and received  a reply within about 48 hours so perhaps the attitude has changed, Aghadowey!

ddea the info you sent is invaluable in piecing together various pieces of info we have thank you!  Do I assume they are the only two gravestones with "our" names ?

I am very grateful as I try to piece together this last tree of emigrant ancestors!
Many thanks
Marlene

Marlene

Those are the only Boals mentioned at Ballyblack on the grave stone inscriptions. There are others at Movilla ,if you send me a personal message through the list with your e-mail address I will pass them on.
