Full text of the Eleanor Tait baptism at the Scotch Church in Pottergate Street, Alnwick.
"Eleanor, daughter of William Tait, Hynd at Stamford in the Parish of Embleton and County of Northumberland and Eleanor his wife was born 29 March and baptized 17 April 1816."
Stamford is about 15 miles north of Guyzance (modern name for Guizon and many other spellings), not that far considering they had moved from Durham, so it could be them. No Melona baptism in the right time frame there, or any other children of a William and Eleanor Tate/Tait.
On the marriage license of William Franklin Tate and Eleanor Wortley, issued June 13 1800, (on the index on FamilySearch), William is aged 21 years and upwards, a Widower of Jarrow, Eleanor is aged 21 years and upwards, of Jarrow. Second Marriage bond guarantor is a Robert Dudgeon, Tailor, of South Shields. Witnesses at the marriage were a George and Jane Jamison.
A couple of burials at Felton St. Michael that might be significant, given that William Washington Franklin Tate was married there in 1827 and having his children baptized there from 1828 onwards, and that Melona claimed to be from Guizonmills.
13 March 1814, Eleanor wife of William Tate, Schoolmaster, of Guizon, age 34.
18 Dec 1816, William Tate, Schoolmaster of Guizon, aged 43.
