Where did William Bladon go ?

Can  anyone find where William Bladon  went, I believe Highgate  and Holly Hedge to either be the same property or  a later one was built on the same land.

This was in the local papers  April 23, 1864
 For sale. advert for  contents and tools etc Highgate Farm ,  Mr Bladon who is leaving the country

In 1871 John Walker b Lincoln lived in Highgate Cottage, his Grandaughter MARGRETTA THEODORE BLADON was there with him,

On July 10th 1890  Mr William Bladon died at Holly Hedge Marchwiel, the notice in the papers says " foreign papers please copy "

William Bladon is a very distant relative of mine however  I do have information about his branch particularly his daughter Margaretta Theodora who I can't find in 1911.  In 1871 William is in Liverpool as a warehouseman. MT his daughter is on Oxton Cheshire in 1881 having married in 1874, by 1891 she is with her second husband living in West Bromwich.  Her husband died in 1901 and she remarried in 1903 to Henry Day then the trail goes cold.  One of her daughters married in 1906 but after that I have no record.

He may have gone to Australia.

We have a William George Bladon, who was married in 1882  in Sydney and died in 1925.   His father was also called William and the name of his mother was not recorded at the time of his death.

I don't know how old William d.1925 was,  but his wife Priscilla Curtis was born in 1854 and died in 1918.  So William was presumably born between about 1850 and 1860.

I've never personally come across this "foreign papers please copy" notation in an English newspaper,   it was quite common in Australia in those days.

On the other hand,  being Wrexham,  "leaving the country"  and "foreign papers"  might just mean England.

He didn't!  We think it was for his 2 brothers Edward and Samuel who went ot Australia.  Samuel was a breeder of greyhounds nad won the waterloo cup!

Onto your William George Bladon, his father was a brother of my gret x 4 grandfather!  I have a lot more information on this branch of the family so please contact me!

"Home Papers please copy" and also "Home and foreign Papers please copy" and variations are often found in the historic newspapers for both New Zealand and Australia at the following two websites   (keyword searchable, free to search, and the NLA site encourages readers to sign up and help correct OCR transcriptions).
