15 Mitchell Street, Manchester

Hi - This is my first time on this site and I have enjoyed looking at some of the posts other have left. In particular the ones relating to my grandfathers place of birth (15 Mitchell Street).
I have always known he was born out of marriage but didn't know the address was a maternity hospital. He has now passed and so will his parents, but I am on a mission to try and complete my family tree as best I can. I have been studying my family history for some years but have come to a standstill as regards my maternal grandfather.

I am searching for information relating to William Humphreys (I have his birth certificate).His mother was Emily Humphreys of Hollinwood (wherever that is), he was born 4th Nov 1924. I know he was taken to live and grow up with John Barker (b.1879) who was in the SA and was possibly told this was his real father, although no father is named on the birth certificate.

If anyone is able to help I would appreciate any information or advice  :)

It is possibly Hollinwood Oldham?

The address I have in Hollinwood is on Gee Street - I just assumed it was in Manchester. So you think it could be Oldham?

There is a marriage for an Emily Humphreys and Joseph Sheridan in 1924 Oldham Register Office or Registrar attended.
