Hi AnnClare,
Tried the link to the Nat Archives and got the private accession lists for the N.S.
However only two schools listed for Wexford...Inch and Ballymore. unfortunately not the ones that I was looking for. many thanks for that.
Tom

I know that the Ballyhack National Registers are in the school itself, as i remember seeing them as a child when i attended the school. Don't know if you can see them but why not give them a call and they can let you know.  I do remember them being very old, the old school closed in the mid-late fifties.

The Fethard register could be with Poulfur NS or you could give the Poulfur Parish office a ring and they could find out for you.

Don't know if that helps you in your search.

Thanks Wexrose for that information. i will give the school at Ballyhack a ring.
I have been to Poulfur Parish Office already this past year and I know the secretary there.
I uncovered a lot of family information from their BMD records. The old parish books are in very good condition and some records are 200 yrs old. It never occurred to me to ask if they had any school records whilst I was there. I will email them and ask now.
Thanks again,
Tom.

Hi Wexrose,
I looked up Ballyhack N.S.on the internet.
It was not built until 1894 and there is no mention of a school there before that date.
As I am looking for period 1860-1880, I will have to spread my search further and see if there were any schools nearby to Ballyhack at that time. I have emailed Poulfur parish and await a reply.
Thanks again,
Tom.

There's a National School listed in Ballyhack in Slaters directory of 1870 - Mary McCabe, mistress.

Hi Wexrose,
I have already been to St James Church at ramsgrange and viewed the BMD record books.
I did not find the name that I was searching for in any record. I will look into the other two however as one of those could hold what i seek.
Thanks again,
Tom.
