Matthewman - James Alexander - Wakefield

James Alexander Matthewman and his second wife Eliza (nee Tunnacliff)  and his children migrated to Australia circa 1850.
I believe he was born in 1812
James married Mary Bailiff in Wakefield in 1838. She died 1848.
James married Eliza Tunnacliff in 1849 in Wakefield.
The family lived in Fitzroy in Melbourne, Victoria.
Does anyone have any information about his parents or his life in Australia?

41 census has him born Scotland and a brick maker .there is on same page a Charles Matthewman 20 born in county hes a plasterer journeyman

It might be coincidence, but it is also interesting that Charles Matthewman is living with a John and Elizabeth Bailiff on the 1841 census. Both are shown as being from Yorkshire and John is a Cordwainer, aged about 35. Elizabeth is aged about 40.

Thank you for the link to Ann Matthewman's birth details. This is James and Mary's daughter - on the right track right family.
Ann was their sixth child - the others were all born in Wakefield, Yorkshire.
In 1848, Mary gave birth to another daughter in Wakefield. She died the same year - I presume either during childbirth or as a result of complications.
I will follow up the leads of brother's name and occupation.
