Gwehelog near Usk

Does anyone have any information about the Wellington Inn in the hamlet of Gwehelog near Usk in Wales. My ancestors - the Taylors  apparently were living there in June 1840.

Hi. My wife was born in Gwehelog, and her sister still lives there. Having just spoke to both of them, they seem to remember that there was a Taylor's Yard which was where the Hall Inn is now.
They have never heard of another pub in Gwehelog, but is it possible that the Wellington Inn was the name used before Taylor's Yard and the Hall Inn?
If I do find out more I will let you know.

Thank you for this info. I visited Gwehelog last year and the locals couldn't recall another hotel either. We visited the Hall Inn - wouldn't it be great if this was the one I am looking for.
After the death of her husband (John Taylor) in 1839 Mary Taylor remarried. I think she married William Watkins, possibly a labourer from Gwehelog on June 3, 1940.
Mary Taylor's father was John Hatch - both Mary and her father give their occupation as publican.
Any further information about the inn or the Hatch, Taylor or Watkins family warmly welcomed.

Yes that's the one.
Mary Taylor's son George migrated to Australia with his wife Ann(e) Ashman in 1857. They named their farm in western Victoria 'Gwehelog'.
They were strict weslyan methodists here in Australia which you imagine wouldn't sit too well with coming from an inn.
I am really keen to know more about Wellington Inn at Gwehelog.

If you view the pages each side of the the Wellington Inn there should be other addresses which would confirm if the Wellington and Hall Inn are the same.  Try oldmaps.uk

I have a copy of the 1840 tithe map and have looked at rates book and electoral reg

I am currently the landlord of the hall inn and have just been given some info and apparently it was known as Tailors Hall or Taylors Hall in 1780 the person who found this out had access to old ordnance survey maps but could not go any further back than 1780.
