looking for any info on George elliott the unfortunate thing is im not a 100% on where in England he was born so here goes withthe details. Born1818 and died 5 Mar 1888 he married a sarah cooper there wedding date 1840 launceston tasmania. They inturn had 11 children.

OK an update on this my George was born in 1814 and in nottingham. as I'm in Australia i was thinking nottingham was a small place but have been told that this is not the case.

So if any one that has a George born in that area and is of course an Elliott that might be related to me please help i do how ever have a very good comprehensive Elliott list from Tasmania and Victoria Australia.

Now George was sent to Tasmania in 1833-34 for street robbery if that should help any body out there.George is my GGGG grandfather.

my name is Jim Corps I have Elliotts in my tree. They are mainly from Leeds/Wakefield/Barnsley areas with a short stay in Nottingham.  Curiously enough two Elliots (my cousins) emigrated to Australia and are living not far from Adelaide (Largs Bay?)They are Michael and Robert (Bobby)

Another curiosity is that I get alot of hotmatches on Genes Reunited for Elliotts with the same name/DoB year from Australia.  This has got to be more than coincidence,  I am in Barton North Yorkshire England

I have a George Elliott in my tree born Wysall, a village just outside Nottingham. Born 22 4 1816. I have no more information on George after this date. His parents were John and Mary Elliott of Wysall.

Now taht i have most of the details correct George elliottt married sarah cooper had 11 children inturn and im still searching for his parents i am narrowing it down, i am lead to believe that george's father is george hatfield elliott he married a sarah. st. marys parish nottingham.

You don't know any one with the name Lina (Laura) Elliott do you, she was born about 1890 in England but moved to australia, parents Berkley Elliott and Sarah Hallas.

No i havent come across that name at all most the one i have are from Tasmania, i only have George from England still looking for his parents.
