Belfast newspaper death notices 1934
« on: Wednesday 18 January 12 15:16 GMT (UK) »
My GG Grandfather James Chambers died 12 October 1934 in Belfast. His address at death was 11 Cable Street. Does that street still exist?

I would like to know if there are any death notices in for him in any of the Local newspapers. If I contact the papers can they look it up for me? I guess I would start with the Belfast Telegraph.

Hi Padmak

Cable Street does not exist but Cable Close does,  If you google Cable Close on map view you can go to the Newtownards Road and see what the houses look like now.  The Newspapers will not look up for you, but there might be someone kind enough to go the Newspaper library for you and check the papers.  Where do you live?

One of the easiest ways to find Belfast streets that may no longer exist is to check through old directories- there are lots of links to these under ANTRIM RESOURCES.

Cable Street ran from Newtownards Road to Fox Street:

Thanks MaggieBlue and Aghadowey.

I live in England. If someone could look up the newspapers for me that would be fantastic.
